Calluses

Calluses are areas of thick yellowish skin on the feet which can feel rough and make walking very painful. They normally occur on areas of the foot that are exposed to excessive pressure or friction, an example of this would be poor fitting high heeled shoes.

They often appear on the balls of feet where the fatty padding that we have becomes thinner over the years, or on heels where it can eventually crack causing much pain and even sometimes infection.

If left untreated a Hard Corn can develop in the callus causing even more pain and discomfort. The Podiatrist can remove Callus with a scalpel and recommend a maintenance regime for you to continue at home in between appointments.
