High Arches

A high arch also known as ‘pes Cavus’ in medical terminology is a foot type in which when the foot is weight bearing on the ground the arch keeps its shape and does not collapse.

In some cases this can be as problematic as flat feet though symptoms can be different. Some problems include finding suitable footwear, lateral ankle instability causing frequent falling or tripping, knee pain, lower limb stress fractures, Iliotibial Band Friction Syndrome and back pain.

The foot is rigid and non-shock absorbent, however via Insoles and Orthotic therapy provided at Walk Right Podiatry along with extensive foot wear advice, many of the above symptoms can be avoided.
